Frequently asked questions
Is the replacement display a Retina-grade panel?
Yes. OEM-grade Retina panels with the same P3 wide colour gamut and brightness as original. We can source a genuine Apple service-pack assembly on request for an extra 30 to 50 per cent.
Why does a MacBook screen cost so much more than a laptop screen?
MacBook displays are sold as a full assembly (panel + lid + camera + hinges + cables + LCD board). Apple doesn't sell just the panel. Even a third-party 'glass only' replacement requires lifting the entire assembly, so the labour matches.
Will the camera still work after a display replacement?
Yes. We carefully transfer the FaceTime camera and ambient light sensor to the new assembly. Both are tested before we hand the MacBook back.
Do you do screen-only repair if just the glass is cracked?
On 2018 and newer MacBooks, the glass is bonded to the LCD and not separable economically. Full assembly is the only proper repair. On 2017 and older MacBook Pros, glass-only replacement is sometimes possible.
